Strengthening Coordination and Capacity-Building on Preparedness and Response to Health Emergencies in OIC Member States

Main objective:

The project aims to build the health workforce capacity in the OIC Member States in the area of health emergencies. In the first phase, the project focuses on building the emergency healthcare capacity in Sudan, the lead country coordinator of Thematic Area 5 of the OIC Strategic Health Programme of Action 2014-2023. In the second phase, the project will be scaled up to other OIC Member States, where the trained Sudanese experts together with the Turkish trainers will participate in knowledge sharing and capacity-building activities in the OIC Member States in need.

Expected Outcomes:

Within the framework of the project, it is expected to achieve the following results:

  • Developing the capacity of the Federal Ministry of Health of Republic of the Sudan in emergency preparedness and response and mobilizing trained Sudanese Experts to join Turkish counterparts to provide training in other OIC Member States.

  • Strengthening the Emergency Healthcare Services in OIC Member States.

  • Training the health staff of selected OIC Member States in cooperation with the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of the Sudan.
