SESRIC participated in the 25^th Meeting of the COMCEC Agriculture Cooperation Working Group, held on 22-23 September 2025 in Ankara under the theme of “Strengthening the Resilience of Family Farmers and Small-Scale Producers in the Agriculture and Food Sector in OIC Member Countries”. The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture of OIC countries, along with representatives from international organizations, including SESRIC.

The programme opened with introductory remarks and a presentation on Agriculture Outlook 2025 prepared by the COMCEC Coordination Office. This was followed by the presentation of the draft Research Report on “Strengthening the Resilience of Family Farmers and Small-Scale Producers in the Agriculture and Food Sector in OIC Member Countries,” setting the stage for technical discussions. The programme then proceeded with insights drawn from selected case studies and the policy recommendations featured in the same report.

During the meeting, representatives from Benin, Gambia, Iran, Morocco, and Türkiye shared their experiences and good practices in strengthening the resilience of family farmers and small-scale producers. This was followed by international perspectives provided by the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and the FAO Sub-regional Office for Central Asia (FAO-SEC).

During the policy debate session, delegates reviewed and refined the draft proposals based on feedback from participating member countries representatives and international organizations. The finalised recommendations emphasized strengthening the resilience of family farmers and small-scale producers in the agriculture and food sectors in OIC countries.

The two-day meeting concluded with a policy debate session among delegates, focusing on drafting the policy recommendations to be submitted to the 41^st COMCEC Ministerial Session. The session was followed by a study visit to a family farm in Gölbaşı, a district of Ankara.

The COMCEC Agriculture Working Group Meeting promotes cooperation among OIC member countries to improve agricultural productivity, ensure food security, and support sustainable development. It helps align policies and share best practices to boost growth and economic development in the region.
