SESRIC held a technical meeting with the Ministry of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman on 17 March 2025 to discuss potential areas of cooperation in the economic sector.

This meeting marked a significant step in advancing the objectives outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed by both institutions in October 2024, aimed at strengthening economic and financial cooperation.

During the meeting, representatives from both institutions explored areas of collaboration within key economic sectors, focusing on research as well as the capacity building of national institutions. The discussions touched on opportunities to improve economic development outcomes and further advance regional collaboration. SESRIC emphasized the importance of facilitating knowledge transfer among the OIC Countries, benefitting from good practices that the Ministry of Economy has implemented.

The meeting concluded with a mutual intention to further explore and identify concrete opportunities to strengthen cooperation and contribute to economic development in the OIC region.
