SESRIC held a technical cooperation meeting with the University of Respati Indonesia (URINDO), with the co-facilitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (MoFA-Indonesia), to explore potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions.

During the meeting, the representatives from URINDO provided an insightful overview of their initiatives and areas of work, emphasising the University’s focus on age-friendly education. They also showed keen interest in sharing their experiences with other OIC Countries, specifically on the importance of community-based active aging programmes, which promote the health and social inclusion of older adults.

In turn, SESRIC briefed the representatives from the University on its training modalities and overall technical cooperation mechanisms, accommodating the University’s proposal to share their experiences in aging-related topics under its Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB). The two institutions also explored other potential collaboration opportunities in areas of mutual interest.

URINDO University in Indonesia, established in 2014, is focused on providing quality education with a special emphasis on business programmes and age-friendly learning. The University offers a variety of business-related courses that prepare students for careers in today’s fast-paced global economy. URINDO also prioritizes creating an inclusive environment for learners of all ages, supporting older adults who wish to continue their education or develop new skills. A key initiative at the university is the Centre for Family and Ageing Studies (CeFAS), which conducts research and offers programmes focused on aging, in line with the University’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by older adults in Indonesia.
