Training Course on ’The Role of Competition Policy in Enhancing Intra-OIC Trade’

Within the framework of its Competition Authorities Capacity Building Programme (CA-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with the Competition Commission of Pakistan and, the Malaysia Competition Commission, will organise a Training Course on “The Role of Competition Policy in Enhancing Intra-OIC Trade” on 21-22 January 2025, through an online video conferencing platform.

The training course aims to raise awareness on the important role of competition authorities in enhancing intra-OIC trade while highlighting the common obstacles faced by the member countries in this domain. Through fostering appropriate policies geared towards stimulating economic growth and enforcing pertinent legal frameworks, competition authorities play pivotal role in advancing trade at national, regional and international levels. The activity will provide insights on potential ways and means to foster collaborative approach among the relevant stakeholders for productive trade sector.

The Competition Authorities Capacity Building Programme (CA-CaB) was developed and initiated by SESRIC in 2012. The Programme aims to support and contribute to the efforts of the OIC countries towards strengthening their institutional and human resources capacities by sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices among the Competition Agencies, Authorities and relevant national institutions. Within the framework of this Programme, the Centre organises capacity-building activities by following various modalities such as training courses, workshops, webinars and study visits.
