Training Course on ‘Entrepreneurship and Business Creation’

Within the framework of the Public Employment Services Capacity Building Programme (PES-CaB) and in line with the OIC Public Employment Services Network (OIC-PESNET) Work Plan 2024-2026, SESRIC, in collaboration with the National Agency for Employment and Independent Work of Tunisia (ANETI), organised a Training Course on “Entrepreneurship and Business Creation” on 21-22 January 2025 through an online video conferencing platform.

The training course was delivered in Arabic by Mr. Anis BAHRI, an expert in entrepreneurship and project management from the ANETI of Tunisia, for the benefit of 137 experts and executives from relevant ministries and institutions across 12 Arabic-speaking OIC member countries.

The course provided comprehensive insights and practical skills necessary for starting and growing successful businesses. Emphasizing key entrepreneurial elements such as innovation, risk management, and strategic decision-making, the two-day activity covered the following key topics:

  • Entrepreneurship and its various forms
  • Characteristics of an entrepreneur
  • Importance of entrepreneurship in the economy
  • Key factors for the success of an entrepreneur
  • Process of creating a business
  • Tools and processes for entrepreneurial support
  • Available sources of funding for business creation

Participants also had the opportunity to delve into successful case studies, pioneering approaches, and exemplary practices, which offer inspiration and guidance for business incubators supporting entrepreneurs. The training concluded with a discussion on the importance of economic integration and unified initiatives among OIC members to support entrepreneurship.
