SESRIC to Participate in the 56th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission

The 56th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC), scheduled to take place from 4-7 March 2025 in New York, will convene representatives from National Statistical Offices and international organizations. As the highest decision-making body for international statistical activities, the Commission will address key topics such as national accounts, population and housing censuses, data science, and indicators for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This session will also feature discussions on emerging trends, methodologies, and frameworks to advance global statistical systems and enhance data-driven decision-making.

SESRIC, in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), will actively participate in the 56th Session of the UNSC and organize several side events, including discussions on implementing the resolutions of the 13th Session of the OIC-StatCom. These events will provide a platform to promote statistical cooperation and strengthen the role of National Statistical Systems in supporting sustainable development goals across OIC member countries.
