Technical Meeting between SESRIC and FAO Subregional Office for Central Asia (FAO-SEC)

SESRIC hosted a coordination meeting with the representatives of FAO Subregional Office for Central Asia (FAO-SEC) in Türkiye at its Headquarters in Ankara, to explore potential collaboration opportunities between the two institutions.

Representatives from the FAO office in Türkiye expressed their interest in strengthening ties with SESRIC and highlighted their readiness to collaborate on topics such as agricultural statistics, food security, as well as joint technical cooperation projects, including but not limited to, climate-related matters, animals and aquaculture.

During the meeting, SESRIC provided a briefing on its technical cooperation initiatives, trainings, statistical activities, as well as the Centre’s relevant research reports related to the areas of work of FAO-SEC.

The discussion concluded positively, focusing on ways and means for advancing South-South Cooperation initiatives, enhancing knowledge exchange programmes, and collaborating for advancing the agriculture sector in the OIC member countries. Both teams agreed on holding meetings on regular basis to ensure sustainable progress in the joint activities between the two institutions.
