Training Course on ’Promoting Participation Finance in the OIC Countries’

Within the framework of its Central Banks Capacity Building Programme (CB-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration the COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO), organised a Training Course on “Promoting Participation Finance in the OIC Countries” through an online video conferencing platform. The training course brought together 103 experts and executives from Central Banks, Ministries of Finance and other relevant national institutions across 29 OIC countries.

Renowned international academicians as well as experts from national institutions in the Republic of Türkiye led the training, which focused on enhancing participants’ understanding of Participation Finance (Islamic finance) as a value-based financial model.

Over the course of two days, the training covered key topics, including:

  • Participation Finance (Islamic Finance): A Value-Based Alternative;
  • Financial Infrastructure and Market Development of Participation Banking in Türkiye;
  • The Integral Facilitator Role of the Association in Effective Functioning of Participation Banking in Türkiye;
  • The Role of Islamic Banking on Financial Sustainability: Prospect and Challenges;
  • Enhancing Corporate Shariah Governance and Regulation in OIC Member Countries; and
  • Islamic Finance between Islamic and Market Logics: Realigning Islamic Finance for Ihsani Society.
