H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Maxat TURLUBAYEV, Head of the Bureau of National Statistics (QazStat) of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in Astana at the House of Ministries. The meeting focused on increasing the scope of collaboration between QazStat and SESRIC.

The discussions centered around the benefits QazStat has gained from SESRIC’s Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, which has reached 67 activities since its initiation. H.E. SELÇUK extended an invitation to H.E. TURLUBAYEV to participate in the upcoming session of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom) scheduled for 15-16 October 2024.

Both representatives highlighted the pivotal role of official statistics in supporting evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development. They agreed on the importance of continuing their collaborative efforts towards enhanced statistical capacities and data quality.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening their partnership and exploring new opportunities for joint initiatives in the field of statistics.
