On the sidelines of the World Association of Public Employment Services Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (WAPES APRC) 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Ybhg. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri ABDUL RAHMAN, Secretary General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture of Malaysia. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

H.E. SELÇUK stated that SESRIC’s Tourism Capacity Building Programme (Tourism-CaB) and the newly initiated Halal Capacity Building Programme (Halal-CaB) serve as valuable platforms for collaboration among the OIC Member Countries. She emphasized the potential collaborative efforts on knowledge sharing and best practices exchange in the tourism sector including the Muslim-friendly tourism.

H.E. Ybhg. Dato’ Roslan expressed his appreciation for SESRIC’s efforts in organising capacity-building activities, recognizing their positive impact on the member countries. He welcomed the prospect of joint initiatives in Muslim-friendly tourism and expressed interest in collaborating in SESRIC’s upcoming programs aligned with the mutual objectives of both institutions.

Both officials concluded the meeting reaffirming their willingness to strengthening collaboration and advancing relevant initiatives among the two institutions in the areas of tourism, arts, and culture.
