H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK Met with H.E. Fadhlina SIDEK, Minister of Education of Malaysia

A bilateral meeting was held between H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Fadhlina SIDEK, Minister of Education of Malaysia, on the sidelines of the World Association of Public Employment Services Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (WAPES APRC) 2024 in Kuala Lumpur. They discussed enhancing cooperation in education, particularly focusing on the Technical and Vocational Education and Training programme (TVET), aiming to expand opportunities for skills development and educational exchanges.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK mentioned about the mandate areas of SESRIC, which include statistics, research, and training. She highlighted the significant role SESRIC plays in fostering development through its initiatives and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with Malaysian institutions. H.E. SELÇUK also remarked on the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET), designed for vocational education and training in OIC Member Countries.

On her part, H.E. Fadhlina SIDEK expressed her appreciation for SESRIC’s tremendous efforts in organising activities under the OIC-VET programme, and acknowledged their positive impact on the OIC Member Countries. She welcomed the idea of strengthening collaboration in future initiatives and expressed interest in SESRIC’s upcoming programmes.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their readiness to strengthening collaboration between SESRIC and the Ministry of Education of Malaysia. They highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange and cooperation in the field of education among the OIC Member Countries.
