SESRIC, the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) held a virtual meeting on 16 July 2024 to discuss organizing a joint workshop on “Energy Statistics, Balance, and Accounts for Informed Energy and Climate Policies”.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed and deliberated on the draft concept note and agenda. They also discussed the list of countries to invite, deciding to extend invitations to member countries of ESCWA and the OIC. Logistical aspects of the workshop, including conference facilities, catering, and interpretation services, were thoroughly examined to ensure smooth and effective planning.

The meeting concluded with all parties agreeing to collaborate closely to ensure the successful organization of the workshop for the benefit of the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and Ministries of Energy from ESCWA and OIC countries.
