Deputy Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the OIC Paid a Courtesy Visit to HE Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK

A delegation led by H.E. Mr. Joneri ALIMIN, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, paid a courtesy visit to HE Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK. The visit aimed to increase cooperation linkages between SESRIC and national institutions of Indonesia, with a particular emphasis on possible joint activities and projects in areas of common interest.

During the discussions, H.E. Joneri ALIMIN and H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK exchanged views on the outcomes of the COMCEC Ministerial Session in December 2023 and explored avenues for enhancing technical collaboration between SESRIC and Indonesian national institutions and strengthening cooperation in capacity-building initiatives.

H.E. SELÇUK underlined that SESRIC, as a subsidiary organ of the OIC, places special emphasis on organizing diverse capacity-building initiatives and fostering technical collaboration with national, regional, and international counterparts. Indonesian national institutions have been active participants in these initiatives, benefiting from and contributing to various activities facilitated by SESRIC. Since the inception of these capacity-building programs, 143 activities have been organized and 762 participants from public institutions in Indonesia benefitted from these activities, she added.

In turn, H.E. ALIMIN underlined the significance of fostering synergies with SESRIC, referring to the joint initiatives between SESRIC and Indonesian public institutions. Additionally, he thanked SESRIC for cooperating with various Indonesian ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Bank Indonesia, and BPS-Statistics Indonesia, demonstrating a comprehensive engagement with Indonesia.

The meeting concluded with both parties’ desire to collaborate on possible joint initiatives aimed at advancing shared objectives of capacity-building, technical cooperation, and socioeconomic development across OIC countries.
