SESRIC participated in the workshop on “Women Empowerment in Food Security and Beyond”, which was organized and virtually hosted by the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) on 12 March 2024.

The workshop brought together experts from various fields in the international workplace to provide insights, guidance and actionable strategies to strengthen the role and professional growth of women in the STEM fields related to food security and beyond.

The workshop’s objective was to delve into the pivotal role of women in shaping sustainable agriculture and ensuring food security in OIC countries. During the workshop, Ms. Buhara ASLAN, Researcher at SESRIC, delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “State of Women in OIC Member Countries”. Her presentation highlighted the progress made by OIC countries in empowering women across social, political and economic spheres.
