Within the framework of SESRIC’s Public Audit Capacity Building Programme (PAU-CaB), and in collaboration with the Turkish Court of Accounts (SAYIŞTAY), the Centre organized a Training Course on “International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI ISSAI Framework)” on 08-09 November 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

The training course was conducted by competent experts from the Turkish Court of Accounts (SAYIŞTAY) for the benefit of experts and executives from the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) and the relevant Ministries in OIC Member Countries.

The training course strived to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of the international standards and best practices of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) and to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles, methodologies, and techniques related to auditing public sector entities in line with international standards.

The course also focused on facilitating networking and knowledge sharing among participants and fostering a platform for exchanges and collaboration between SAIs in the OIC Member Countries. Over the two days of the training, the following topics were covered:

• Introduction to INTOSAI Framework of Professional. Pronouncements (IFPP)
• Fundamental Principles of Public Sector Auditing SAI Organisational Requirements (ISSAI)
• Financial Audit Principles and Standards
• International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Principles and INTOSAI Guidance

The Public Audit Capacity Building Programme (PAU-CaB) was developed and initiated by SESRIC in 2019 to provide a framework of cooperation to facilitate and strengthen collaboration between relevant national institutions of the OIC Member Countries responsible for public audit. The Programme aims to enhance institutional and human capacities by sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices among the Public Audit Authorities (PAA) in the OIC Member Countries. Within this framework, the Centre organizes capacity-building activities for the benefit of the staff of the PAA by using various modalities such as training courses, training workshops, and study visits.
