Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC, in collaboration with UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) and HP Foundation, organised a Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme on ‘Entrepreneurship Skills Development’ on 08-19 May 2023 through an online video conferencing platform.

The ToT Programme, which consisted of two consecutive sessions of five days, was provided by a competent master trainer for the benefit of 50 TVET trainers and managers from the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institutions from 11 OIC African French Speaking Member Countries.

The ToT Programme provided insights into the most recent globally recognized tools and methods for TVET trainers and managers to transfer knowledge and skills through the HP LIFE programme to their relevant organizations/trainees. Throughout the ToT course, the focus was made on preparing trainers and managers to master new pedagogical skills via practical simulations.

The ToT Programme covered the following topics:

• Presentation of HP LIFE E-Learning
• Teaching Technics: Online & Offline Content TOT Methodology
• Ways of Using E-Learning in Face-to-Face Context
• Life Skills Techniques
• Roles of Trainers in Delivering Training-of-Trainers (TOT) and Training for Students, including Troubleshooting Skills
• Leadership Sessions
• Developing Outreach Strategies Nationwide
• Monitoring and Evaluation Techniques

As an initiative of SESRIC, the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) was launched in 2009 at the COMCEC Economic Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye. The main aim of the programme is to enhance the quality of TVET systems in the OIC Member Countries, as well as to assist them in their efforts to overcome challenges and constraints in the TVET sector. Within the framework of the OIC-VET Programme and in line with its Strategic Roadmap for the years 2020-2025, SESRIC, in its capacity as the Executing OIC Organ of the Programme, initiates and implements various capacity-building training activities by facilitating the transfer and exchange of know-how, knowledge and experience among the national TVET institutions in the OIC Member Countries. These activities cover a diverse range of topics, including entrepreneurship skills development, and embrace a blended model of delivery approach by combining face-to-face and virtual for increased efficiency and flexibility.
