Within the framework of its Central Banks Capacity Building Programme (CB-CaB), SESRIC organised a training course on “Formulating Monetary Policy” on 22-25 February 2021 through an online video conferencing platform.

The course was provided by competent experts from the Central Bank of Turkey for the benefit of 14 experts and executives from Central Bank of Iraq, Central Bank of Jordan and Palestine Monetary Authority.

The main objective of the training course was to provide insights on formulating monetary policy, including transmission channels, short-term and medium-term forecasting, monitoring inflation trends and financial stability, among many others. Furthermore, the training course touched upon the changes in monetary policy decision-making in the past years such as the global financial crisis and COVID-19 pandemic.

This training course was designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this difficult time of global crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic.
