SESRIC participated in the Webinar on “Regional, Sub-regional and Interregional Organizations in the Global South as Actors in Responding to COVID-19” organized jointly by United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and UNDP Seoul Policy Centre’s on Wednesday, 15 July 2020.

Mr. Fadi Abdullah FARASIN, Assistant Director General of SESRIC represented the Centre at the Webinar where panelists from g7+ Secretariat, COMSATS, African Union and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay represented their Organizations’ efforts in ensuring global coordination needed to recover from the global crisis due to COVID-19.

In the panel discussion, Mr. FARASIN delivered a presentation on SESRIC’s initiatives taken during the pandemic and the Centre’s role in promoting South-South cooperation through its mandates; Statistics, Research and Training. Furthermore, in his presentation, Mr. FARASIN provided concrete examples of the support mechanisms launched by the various OIC Institutions, including SESRIC, towards helping the OIC Member countries in responding to COVID-19 and mitigating its negative impacts.
