SESRIC and TÜBİTAK MAM signed an agreement within the scope of the Reverse Linkage Project between Turkey and Pakistan on Earthquake Seismological Research

SESRIC and TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (TÜBİTAK MAM) signed an agreement within the scope of the “Reverse Linkage Project between Turkey and Pakistan on Earthquake Seismological Research” on 13 December 2018 at SESRIC HQ in Ankara, Turkey.

The signing ceremony was attended by the distinguished representatives of the both institutions as well as the Islamic Development Bank Group Regional Hub in Turkey and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). H.E. Ambassador Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey, witnessed the signing ceremony and stated the importance of the project to enhance Pakistan’s capacity in detecting and monitoring earthquakes and assessing their risks.

The Agreement aims to facilitate the capacity development activities that will be provided by TÜBİTAK MAM for the benefit of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Another agreement between TIKA, as the main donor institution of the Reverse Linkage Project, and TÜBİTAK MAM is going to be signed in order to initiate the capacity building trainings of the project.
