Training Cooperation E-Newsletter Vol. 2 No. 2
Date: 01 July 2010

SESRIC has released the third issue of its semi-annual periodical SESRIC Training Cooperation E-Newsletter, which highlights all training and technical cooperation activities undertaken by SESRIC since the publication of the last issue. In this regard, this issue pays particular attention to the activities and projects implemented under the OIC-VET Programme since its launch by the COMCEC Economic Summit in Istanbul, Turkey on 9 November 2009. Given the fact that this programme garnered great interest, in a very short period of time, from the member states in achieving the targets set out in the OIC Ten-Year Programme of Action, this programme seems to be a very promising instrument in terms of realizing the human development aspirations of our countries.

This issue of the Training Cooperation E-Newsletter also provides online news and events related to Capacity Building Programmes (OIC Statistical Capacity Building Programme (OIC StatCaB), Central Banks, Ibn Sina Programme for OIC Health Capacity Building , and Occupational Health and Safety Capacity Building Programme), as well as training institutions with best practices to serve as a guide to other similar institutions in the OIC Member States and other related training activities. It also gives readers an observation of the increased role of the OIC in providing significant contribution to global efforts to overcome challenges on the global agenda. To this end, in this issue of the Training Cooperation E-Newsletter, readers will also read about the UN-OIC Biennial General Cooperation Meeting which aims to promote cooperation between the two agencies on the political and economical fronts.

The wide content of the E-Newsletter reflects SESRIC’s determination to continue to extend its support to OIC Member States, undertaking several programmes and projects that would lead to establishing a common platform among OIC Member States for tackling the developmental challenges of the OIC member countries.
