Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) has organised, in collaboration with the Competition Authority of the Republic of Turkey, a training course on “Competition Law and Policy” within the framework of the OIC Capacity Building Programme for Competition Authorities (OIC-CA-CaB) on 24-26 April 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The course was provided by Mrs Şerife Demet Kaya, Expert on Competition, and Mrs Ebru Öztürk, Chief Competition Expert, and was attended by several experts from the Indonesia Competition Commission.

The training course on “Competition Law and Policy” mainly covered the following subjects;

• Economic policy, industry, and history of competition policy in Turkey
• Introduction to organization of Turkish Competition Authority, with specific issue on the institutional setting
• Legal approaches on enforcement
• Specific case studies
• Economic analysis by the Commission
• Other issues
