H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a meeting with H.E. Abdoulaye SEYDOU, Minister of Commerce and Industry of Niger, on the margins of the 42nd Ministerial Session of COMCEC in Istanbul, Türkiye.
During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK briefed the Minister on SESRIC’s mandate and activities in the areas of statistics, research and capacity building, with particular reference to the OIC Statistics Database (OICStat) and the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom). She expressed the Centre’s interest in further strengthening cooperation with Niger, particularly through technical training, statistical capacity-building programmes and joint research initiatives.
H.E. SEYDOU welcomed the prospects for enhanced cooperation and underscored the importance of strengthening the technical capacities of national statistical institutions. Both sides also discussed the designation of focal points to facilitate coordination and identify potential areas for joint activities, including closer engagement with Niger’s National Statistical Office.
