H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director General of SESRIC, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Fahad Al-Dossari, President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the margins of the 15th Session of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening knowledge sharing and further enhancing statistical cooperation among OIC Member Countries, with particular emphasis on promoting their representation and active engagement in the global statistical community. The two sides also underscored the importance of hosting major international statistical events, including the United Nations World Data Forum, as a means of fostering global dialogue, advancing knowledge exchange, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of statistics.
Both sides exchanged views on ways to further consolidate their existing collaboration and explored new avenues for cooperation in statistics, with a view to supporting capacity development, knowledge exchange, and the effective participation of OIC Member Countries in international statistical initiatives.
H.E. SELÇUK also expressed her appreciation to GASTAT for its excellent hospitality and the effective organisation and arrangements made for the successful hosting of the 15th Session of OIC-StatCom.
