A SESRIC delegation participated in the 27th Meeting of the COMCEC Tourism Working Group, held on 16–17 September 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye, under the theme “Impact of Climate Change and Mitigation Strategies for Sustainable OIC Tourism.” The Meeting brought together representatives of OIC Member States and relevant OIC institutions to examine the impacts of climate change on tourism in OIC countries and develop actionable policy recommendations.
Participants exchanged national experiences and good practices, examined shared challenges in climate change, and reviewed the final draft of the research report prepared on the subject.
Drawing on the report’s findings and discussions held during the meeting, participants formulated policy recommendations to strengthen climate change mitigation strategies and mechanisms for the tourism sector in OIC countries. The recommendations will be submitted for consideration at the 42nd COMCEC Ministerial Meeting, scheduled for 31 October - 3 November 2026.
