SESRIC participated in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Policy Design Workshop for the Development Strategy and Financing Platform held under the theme “Best Practices for Policy Action” on 22-24 July 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye.

The workshop was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS (RBEC), in collaboration with the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH). It brought together representatives of UNDP Country Offices, government institutions, academia, and international organisations, among others, to exchange knowledge and good practices on integrated development planning and financing.

Through keynote addresses and presentations by regional experts and country representatives, the workshop served as a platform for exchanging experiences on integrated development planning and financing, with particular emphasis on evidence-based policymaking, sustainable financing, climate-responsive development, and regional cooperation.

Discussions also addressed common development challenges facing countries across the RBEC region, including economic diversification, green transition, jobs and skills development, data quality, and crisis response. Through collaborative working group sessions, participants exchanged views on evidence-based solutions for enhancing competitiveness, identifying analytical needs and strengthening data-driven policymaking to support sustainable and resilient development.

Participating in the workshop, SESRIC reflected its continued commitment to strengthening cooperation with international and regional partners, and contributing to initiatives that promote evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development across OIC Member Countries. During the breakout sessions, SESRIC contributed by briefing the country representatives and regional experts on the activities of the Centre such as Statistical Capacity Building Programme and OIC-VET where the developmental challenges were related to data availability, frequency, reliability as well as green skills development.
