SESRIC Participated in the International Day Programme Organised by Ibn Haldun University

SESRIC participated in the International Day Programme organised by on 20 May 2026 at the university’s campus in Istanbul. The event brought together students, academicians, and representatives from various institutions.

The programme commenced with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Atilla ARKAN, President of Ibn Haldun University, and Mr. Bilal ERDOĞAN, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University.

In his remarks, Mr. ERDOĞAN highlighted the importance of bringing about an international academic environment where students from different countries can interact closely, learn from one another’s cultures and languages, and maintain strong intellectual connections beyond graduation. He also underlined the importance of solidarity and cooperation among young people and intellectuals in addressing today’s global challenges.

Prof. Dr. ARKAN emphasised the university’s multilingual and international educational environment and noted the important contribution of international students to strengthening intercultural understanding and cooperation.

Following the opening remarks, a video message from H.E. Amina J. MOHAMMED, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations was screened. In her message, H.E MOHAMMED encouraged young people to strengthen intercultural dialogue, solidarity, and international cooperation.

The programme then continued with cultural performances presented by student groups representing different countries. The event also featured various activities reflecting the students from different nationalities introducing their cultures through country booths, traditional clothing, cuisines, handicrafts, and interactive presentations.

During the programme, SESRIC hosted an information stand to introduce the Centre’s ongoing activities. The SESRIC team provided information on the Centre’s programmes, projects, research activities, and capacity-building initiatives supporting socio-economic development across OIC member countries. Visitors were also informed about SESRIC Emerging Talents Capacity Building Programme (SET-CAB), which offers young professionals from OIC countries the opportunity to gain practical experience in an international and multicultural working environment at its Headquarters in Ankara.

SESRIC’s participation in the International Day strengthened its engagement with international students and academia in Türkiye.
