SESRIC to Participate in the 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD (COSP19)

SESRIC delegation will participate in the 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD (COSP19), which is scheduled for 9-11 June 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event will bring together representatives from States Parties, UN entities, national human rights institutions, and civil society organisations, among others.

As part of its contribution, SESRIC is organising a High-Level side event titled Panel Discussion on “Social Safety Nets for Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities: Sharing Best Practices and Strengthening Social Security in OIC Member States” on the margins of the CRPD COSP19 on 8 June 2026. In addition, the Centre, in collaboration with the League of Arab States (LAS), will co-organise a High-Level side event titled Panel Discussion on “Resilient and Inclusive Societies: Regional Action to Protect and Empower Persons with Disabilities towards National Implementation of the CRPD and Enhanced Civic Engagement” on 11 June 2026. Furthermore, SESRIC delegation will participate in the COSP19 sessions and contribute to various side events organised by long-standing partners on matters related to advancing the rights of persons with disability and empowering them on all aspects of life.

The Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP) established pursuant to article 40 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in 2008. Since then, eighteen sessions have been convened at the United Nations Headquarters, New York.
