SESRIC participated in the 26^th Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) Tourism Working Group, which was held virtually on 21 April 2026. The meeting focused on the theme “Impacts of Climate Change and Mitigation Strategies for Sustainable OIC Tourism”.

The meeting highlighted the preliminary findings of the draft report prepared on the same theme. It was followed by country experience sharing by Indonesia, Malaysia, Tunisia, and Türkiye on the national efforts in mitigating climate change’s negative effects on tourism sector and promoting sustainable tourism at the national level. Representative from UNDP Türkiye Office also shared insights on climate change and the protection of tourism and cultural heritage. The meeting concluded with a presentation on the COMCEC Project Support Programmes and a brief on the funded projects for implementation in 2026 in the domain of tourism.
