Date: 20 April 2026
Venue: Virtual-SESRIC, Ankara - Türkiye

SESRIC participated in the 26th Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) Trade Working Group, held on 20 April 2026 under the theme “Developing Effective Trade Financing Tools for Increasing Exports in the OIC Member Countries.” The meeting brought together 50 participants from national public and private institutions in OIC Countries, as well as representatives of relevant OIC institutions and international and regional organisations.

The meeting featured a presentation on a COMCEC-supported research project, which outlined the scope, conceptual framework, and methodology for developing effective trade financing tools aimed at increasing exports in the OIC Countries. The presentation also shared preliminary findings from case studies conducted in Malaysia, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates, along with selected examples from Germany and the United Kingdom.

The meeting further provided an opportunity for OIC Countries to exchange experiences and perspectives on the subject. Representatives from Indonesia and Türkiye shared their ongoing efforts, practices, and challenges in the area of trade financing. In addition, a representative from the International Finance Corporation under the World Bank Group provided valuable insights based on institutional experience in trade and supply chain finance, thereby enriching the discussions with a broader perspective.

The meeting concluded with a presentation by the COMCEC Coordination Office on its Project Support Instruments, which are announced annually under specific thematic areas to support projects in OIC Countries and relevant institutions.
