H.E. SELÇUK presented the report ‘Towards the Achievement of Prioritised SDGs in OIC Countries’ at the 41st Ministerial Session of COMCEC

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK presented the 2025 edition of the report titled “Towards the Achievement of Prioritised Sustainable Development Goals in OIC Countries” during the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) of the 41st Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), held on 1 November 2025 in Istanbul.

In her presentation, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted the key findings of the report, which assesses the progress of OIC Member States towards achieving the prioritised Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She emphasized the importance of collective efforts and enhanced cooperation among OIC countries to accelerate progress, particularly in areas such as poverty reduction, quality education, gender equality, and economic growth.

H.E. SELÇUK further underlined SESRIC’s continued commitment to supporting the OIC countries through evidence-based research, statistical capacity-building, and training initiatives. She noted that SESRIC has implemented a wide range of activities under the OIC Vocational Education and Training (OIC-VET) Programme, designed to strengthen human capital and foster socio-economic development across the OIC region.

Since the launch of the OIC-VET Programme, SESRIC has successfully carried out nearly 70 activities, benefiting more than 3,000 participants from OIC countries. She also mentioned that SESRIC’s other initiatives are aligned with COMCEC’s cooperation areas, contributing effectively to shared development objectives and fostering sustainable growth among the member states.
