Venue: Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

SESRIC participated in the World Social Security Forum (WSSF 2025), held from 29 September to 03 October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and hosted by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) of Malaysia, the Forum convened over 2,000 delegates from social security institutions and international organisations across 133 countries.

Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the Forum provided a global platform to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and innovations in social security. The Forum opened with a high-level ceremony featuring addresses by ISSA President Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed and Malaysia’s Minister of Human Resources YB Steven Sim Chee Keong. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, who officially inaugurated the Forum.

The first day continued with a special plenary titled “Shaping Social Security for the people’s Future: The MADANI Approach in a Changing World”, which highlighted Malaysia’s inclusive and forward-looking vision for social security. This was followed by a session on global developments and trends in social security, with contributions from Oman, Côte d’Ivoire, and Brazil. The day concluded with the International Social Security Video Festival Awards, celebrating innovative communication in social protection.

On the second day, discussions focused on transformation and innovation in social security management. Key sessions included the 35th ISSA General Assembly, a plenary on institutional innovation, and parallel sessions on customer-centric service delivery, leadership in innovation governance, the integration of digitalization and artificial intelligence in social security systems, and strengthening organizational resilience.

SESRIC’s participation underscored its commitment to strengthening social protection systems in OIC member countries through international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building. The Forum provided a valuable opportunity for SESRIC to follow global discussions, observe best practices, and connect with peers from international social security institutions, contributing to its ongoing efforts to support comprehensive social protection systems in OIC Member Countries.
