SESRIC and the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts of Senegal signed an MoU

On the occasion of SESRIC’s commemoration ceremony of Dakar as the OIC City of Tourism 2025, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK signed a MoU with H.E. Mountaga DIAO, the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts of Senegal on 2 September 2025 towards contributing to the advancement of tourism sector in Senegal as a promising destination.

The MoU is expected to facilitate joint efforts in capacity-building programmes, research initiatives, exchange of expertise and information, as well as collaborative projects that support various aspects of the domain of tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts of Senegal prepares and applies legislation and regulations relating to tourism and hotel professions and activities. It encourages the supervision of tourism and ensures its promotion, development and diversification. Furthermore, it oversees the development of handicrafts, their promotion and export as well as the modernization of this sector. To this end, it facilitates access for craftsmen to financing their activities.
