H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Abdou DIOUF, Director General of the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSAD) of Senegal on 2 September 2025 in Dakar.

The meeting discussed ways and means of enhancing cooperation in the domain of statistics, with particular emphasis on the digitalisation and utilisation of AI in data collection and analysis. In addition, both sides touched upon the importance of knowledge exchange among OIC countries utilising South-South cooperation mechanisms, especially on topics related to household and demographic surveys, poverty and labour market statistics, environmental and climate-related data as well as research on youth employment, migration, and social protection.

The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) is an administrative structure created by Law No. 2004-21 of 21 July 2004 on the organization of statistical activities. It is responsible for ensuring the technical coordination of the activities of the national statistical system and for carrying out the production and dissemination of statistical data for the needs of the Government, public administrations, the private sector, development partners and the public.
