SESRIC successfully hosted a Webinar on “General Inspection of Premises: OSH Legislation Structure, Procedures, and Guidelines” on 22 September 2025. It was organised within the framework of the Occupational Safety and Health Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB), and in line with the OIC Occupational and Safety Health Network activities.

The webinar brought together 63 experts from Occupational Safety and Health Institutions of 16 OIC countries. It aimed to enhance understanding of general workplace inspection practices among member countries by providing a platform to review basic OSH legislation frameworks, share practical inspection procedures, and raise awareness of common workplace hazards.

The webinar featured presentations by experts from the Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety, Ministry of Labour of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Directorate of Guidance and Inspection, Ministry of Labour, and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye.

Their presentations covered the following key topics:

• Understanding OSH Laws and the Role of Inspections,
• How Workplace Inspections are Carried Out,
• What to Watch Out For; Common Hazards and Responsibilities.

SESRIC launched the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET) in 2011 to establish an international network for the systematic sharing of information and experience in the domain of OSH among the national OSH institutions of the OIC Member States, thereby improving the quality of their OSH services and standards. SESRIC initiated the Occupational Health and Safety Capacity Building Programme (OSH-CaB) in 2010 to support the efforts of the OIC Member States in improving workplace safety and health.
