SESRIC, as the Executing Organ of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET), hosted a series of OIC-VET Consultative Meetings to develop the ten-year OIC TVET Strategic Roadmap 2026-2035.

The Second OIC-VET Consultative Meeting was held online in Arabic on 15 October 2025. It brought together 54 senior representatives from the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) authorities and relevant national institutions in Arabic-speaking OIC countries.

The meeting was held to address emerging challenges and opportunities in TVET and to establish strategic directions for the Programme’s new vision. The meeting aimed to collect the input towards the development of a practical roadmap for the benefit of OIC Member Countries.

The meeting began with technical discussions on supply and programming interface issues, followed by a comprehensive review of the OIC TVET Programme, including its structure, objectives, and progress in implementation. Participants from OIC countries engaged in detailed discussions about the challenges facing vocational education in their respective nations. Key issues included skills mismatches, limited funding, negative societal perceptions, and the need for stronger collaboration.
