Venue: Ankara - Türkiye

H.E. Amb. Achmad Rizal PURNAMA, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Türkiye, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at SESRIC HQs with a group of Indonesian students who pursue their higher education in Türkiye.

On the sidelines of the visit, a bilateral meeting took place between H.E. SELÇUK and H.E. Ambassador PURNAMA. Both dignitaries reaffirmed the importance of enhancing the existing strong cooperation between SESRIC and national institutions of Indonesia under statistics, research, and training and technical cooperation, as well as other areas of common interest for the benefit of OIC countries. To date, more than 750 experts from the national institutions of Indonesia have benefited from over 150 capacity building activities organised by SESRIC.

Following the meeting, a comprehensive presentation on the OIC and activities of SESRIC in statistics, research, and technical cooperation was delivered to the group of Indonesian students at the Centre’s Al-Aqsa Library. The students also found the opportunity to learn about the SESRIC Emerging Talents Capacity Building (SET-CAB) Programme, which offers a valuable opportunity for young talents from member countries to get international exposure and work alongside experienced professionals of the Centre from various fields, thereby enhancing the skills and knowledge of the participants. The presentation concluded with a discussion and networking session.

SESRIC regularly welcomes groups of students of the OIC countries pursuing higher education in Türkiye to enrich their understanding of the OIC and the activities of SESRIC in its mandate areas and the contribution of SESRIC to the socio-economic development of the member countries.
