Online Working Group Meeting on ‘Facilitating Digital Transition of National VET Systems in OIC Countries’
Date: 19-20 August 2025
Venue: Virtual-SESRIC, Ankara - Türkiye

Within the framework of the OIC-VET Programme and SESRIC project titled “Developing an Effective Roadmap for Facilitating Digital Transition in National VET Systems in OIC Member Countries”, funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the OIC (COMCEC) under its 12th Call for Project Proposals, SESRIC successfully organised an Online Working Group Meeting on “Facilitating Digital Transition of National VET Systems in OIC Countries” on 19-20 August 2025.

The meeting was attended by 37 participants from 11 TVET-related ministries and institutions of OIC countries. Participants explored the current needs, capacities, and strategic priorities to advance the digital transformation of their vocational education and training systems. They also identified challenges and opportunities in digitalisation, promoted the integration of technology to enhance the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of VET programmes, and improved the employability of graduates through the adoption of innovative digital tools and skills. A key outcome of this collaborative effort was the development of a draft roadmap to guide member countries in their digital transition.

The COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO) introduced the COMCEC Project Funding (CPF) in 2013, a financing mechanism that funds projects submitted by the OIC countries and relevant OIC Institutions. The funding is provided in the form of a grant through the Development and Investment Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, a main body in the CPF scheme. Since the initiation of CPF, SESRIC has implemented 16 projects so far under various cooperation areas and sectoral themes determined by the CCO.

The presentations of the meeting are available at this link.
