SESRIC and the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (TKDK) of the Republic of Türkiye held a coordination meeting on 30 April 2025 at SESRIC HQs to strengthen their ongoing collaboration.

During the meeting, the two institutions reviewed the outcomes of their previous joint efforts and exchanged views on potential areas for future cooperation. Discussions focused particularly on how the successful implementation model of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance for Rural Development (IPARD) programme managed by TKDK in Türkiye could be adapted and introduced in OIC Member Countries.

As Türkiye’s primary implementer of the EU’s IPARD programme, TKDK brings extensive experience in supporting rural development, enhancing agricultural infrastructure, and empowering rural communities. Both SESRIC and TKDK expressed a shared interest in utilizing this expertise to benefit other OIC member countries facing similar rural development challenges.

The meeting also covered collaboration within SESRIC’s planned activities in the field of agricultural and rural development, including capacity-building programmes, knowledge-sharing platforms, and technical cooperation projects.

This initiative aligns with SESRIC’s broader mandate to foster sustainable development and South-South cooperation among OIC countries.
