SESRIC Participated in the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit (INRES)

SESRIC participated in the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit (INRES), held on 2 May 2025 at the Lutfi Kirdar Congress Centre in Istanbul, Türkiye, under the theme “Securing Resources, Rebuilding Future.” The event was organised by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye.

The Summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, and innovators to explore the dynamic landscape of energy resources and security for the future. It featured high-level plenary sessions, expert-led thematic panels, and interactive roundtables. Representatives from several countries, including the OIC countries, namely Libya, Niger, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Syria, and Türkiye, attended the event.

Marking its first edition, the Summit was graced with the presence of H.E. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, and H.E. Alparslan BAYRAKTAR, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye. During the inauguration session, H.E. ERDOĞAN, addressed the importance of countries adopting diverse strategies based on their national priorities, with an emphasis on cross-country strategic partnership at both regional and global levels.

The Summit also covered the following panel sessions:

  • “Critical Minerals for the Energy Transition: Demand Forecasting, New Technologies and Supply Readiness”
  • “Mining in Energy Transition: Ministerial Dialogue on Resource Security”
  • “Shifting Dynamics in Securing Supply: Challenges and Opportunities”
  • “Hydrocarbons in Transition: New Strategies and Future Outlook”

The event provided the participants the opportunity for networking with both traditional and emerging stakeholders in the global resource landscape, enhancing ties and inter-institutional partnerships with relevant national as well as international entities.
