SESRIC held a meeting with the Inter-Arab Union of Hotels and Tourism to discuss potential areas of collaboration in promoting and developing the Islamic and Arab tourism industry.

Discussions highlighted the essential role of the tourism sector in fostering sustainable development in the Arab and OIC regions. The meeting covered SESRIC and the Union's activities in promoting tourism, underscoring the existing challenges and potential solutions.

Both parties emphasized the necessity of consolidating efforts to improve key aspects of tourism, including skills development, hotel management, digital marketing, and the adoption of sustainable practices, among others.

The Inter-Arab Union of Hotels and Tourism is a specialized Arab organisation operating under the umbrella of the Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU) of the League of Arab States (LAS). The Union aims to develop the hotel and tourism sector in the Arab world by promoting investment, improving service quality, supporting tourism innovation, and developing human resources. It also contributes to organizing conferences, providing consultations, and launching initiatives that enhance Arab tourism integration and position the region among global tourism destinations.
