SESRIC Launches its New Program Series ‘SESRIC Talks’ with the Inaugural Session on ‘Türkiye as a Member of the OIC‘

SESRIC launched its new programme series “SESRIC Talks” hosting H.E. Amb. Cenk URAZ, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the OIC, as the inaugural guest speaker on the topic “Türkiye as a Member of the OIC” on 4 February 2025 at its Headquarters in Ankara.

With the esteemed participation of H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, the session brought together around 70 representatives from diplomatic missions, international organisations, and relevant stakeholders based in Ankara, including Ambassadors of Bangladesh, The Gambia, Lebanon, Mauritania, Peru as well as Secretary General of SMIIC, Director General of OIC Secretary-General’s Cabinet, among many others, which set up an enabling environment for valuable discussions and exchange of information.

H.E. Amb. Cenk URAZ shed light on Türkiye’s active role within the OIC, emphasizing its contributions to economic cooperation, humanitarian efforts, and regional diplomacy. Furthermore, H.E. Amb. URAZ underscored the top priorities on Türkiye’s agenda during its presidency for the 51st OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), starting in June 2025, while reaffirming the country’s commitment to further supporting the just cause of Palestine.

The discussion was followed by an interactive session where the attendees had the opportunity to raise various views on the current challenges and opportunities within the OIC.

The SESRIC Talks series is a newly launched initiative designed to host distinguished experts from various fields at the Centre’s Al-Aqsa Library. This platform aims to foster knowledge exchange on a wide range of topics, engaging diverse audiences in meaningful discussions.
