H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK participated in the 49^th Session of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), held in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. The session brought together senior officials and heads of statistical agencies from the Arab region to exchange expertise and share best practices aimed at strengthening the statistical capacities of Arab countries, in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the meeting, key discussions focused on enhancing statistical systems at national and regional levels, aligning them with international standards to support the development goals. H.E. SELÇUK emphasized the importance of cooperation between regional organizations and statistical offices to advance the production of reliable data and improve decision-making processes in Arab countries.

The Kingdom of Bahrain, as host of this significant event, underscored its commitment to fostering regional collaboration and improving the statistical infrastructure across Arab countries. The meeting highlighted the longstanding partnership between SESRIC and AITRS in promoting capacity development in official statistics, which is crucial for sustainable development across the region.
