H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Bahar MURADOVA, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the sidelines of the Azerbaijan Halal Business (AZHAB) Forum, which took place in Baku on 8-9 October 2024.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation mechanisms between the two institutions, particularly concerning family, women, elderly, and children. Both parties underscored the pivotal role of developing human and institutional capacities through knowledge exchange among the OIC member countries to provide better services for vulnerable groups.

On her part, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted key initiatives of SESRIC geared towards the advancement of vulnerable groups, including the Centre’s Social Development Capacity Building Programmes and its pertinent activities. She also emphasized the strategic reports prepared by SESRIC that are submitted to the relevant OIC Ministerial Conferences convened in the domains of women and social development.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their willingness to explore potential joint initiatives and projects that align with their institutions’ shared goals of enhancing social development and improving citizens’ well-being.
