SESRIC participated in the “Virtual Symposium on Achieving OIC Goals and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Strengthening Youth Partnerships”, organized by the OIC General Secretariat and the Ministry of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 19 September 2024 to commemorate the OIC Youth Day.

The Symposium aimed to promote youth communication and mobilization to advocate for and achieve OIC goals and SDGs. It also explored ways to strengthen partnerships and enhance youth capacity building, particularly in terms of representing their perspective in international forums. The event brought together youth, representatives of youth organisations from OIC countries, officials from governmental and non-governmental institutions working in the field of youth, designated national focal points, researchers and students, and representatives of relevant organs and institutions of the OIC, as well as partner institutions.

The event provided an opportunity for member countries, relevant OIC institutions, and other participants to share their experiences and initiatives in achieving the OIC goals and SDGs. During the event, SESRIC delivered a comprehensive presentation on "Youth Empowerment: OIC Policies and Programmes".

The Symposium concluded with the adoption of recommendations on enhancing partnerships in youth empowerment and achieving OIC goals and SDGs, to be included in the recommendations that will be submitted to the next session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers.
