SESRIC participated in the seminar on the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) Strategy for Türkiye (2024-2026), held on 5 September 2024 in Ankara, Türkiye. The Seminar was attended by Dr. Issa FAYE, Director General of the IsDB Global Practice & Partnership Directorate; Dr. Walid ABDELWAHAB, Director of the IsDB Regional Hub in Türkiye; H.E. Osman ÇELİK, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Türkiye; along with many other government officials, representatives from international financial institutions, and academic institutions.

The event focused on the IsDB Strategic Realignment for 2023-2025 and its pivotal role in advancing resilient, inclusive, and sustainable development in Türkiye from 2024 to 2026, as outlined in its Country Engagement Framework (CEF).

The seminar commenced with welcoming remarks from Dr. Walid ABDELWAHAB, followed by the opening speech by Dr. Issa FAYE, who emphasised the crucial role of collaboration and active engagement between institutions for fostering growth. The keynote address was given by H.E. Osman ÇELİK, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Türkiye, who provided an insightful overview on Türkiye’ s current economic situation.

The event continued with corporate videos displaying investments made in Türkiye, speeches by representatives from various IsDB organisations, and engaging panel discussions. Discussions further highlighted Türkiye’s economic challenges and growth potential, stressing the need for targeted policies, reforms, and investments.
