H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Bassam Ahmed MARZOOQ, Ambassador of Kingdom of Bahrain in Ankara. The meeting aimed to explore new avenues of collaboration with the national institutions of Bahrain.

At the outset, H.E. SELÇUK extended her congratulations and best wishes to H.E. MARZOOQ in his new role as the Ambassador of Kingdom of Bahrain in Ankara. She underscored the activities and programmes of SESRIC in the domains of statistics, research, training and technical cooperation. In these fields, SESRIC has successfully organized 96 capacity-building activities, which have been directly benefited by around 350 participants from Bahrain’s public institutions. To enhance synergies, H.E. SELÇUK proposed the initiation of joint flagship projects with a particular emphasis on capacity-building and technical cooperation on fields of interest to the Bahraini national institutions. In this connection, H.E. SELÇUK underlined that the cooperation between SESRIC and national institutions of Bahrain including IGA and BIBF is very close and valuable. The prospects for collaboration in Islamic banking, statistics, social issues, and the signing of new MoUs were also discussed during the meeting.

On his side, H.E. Amb. MARZOOQ thanked H.E. SELÇUK for the meeting and mentioned that both Bahrain and SESRIC can organize joint activities in the proposed fields by identifying new areas for the benefit of both Bahrain’s national institutions specifically and the OIC region broadly.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about the potentials for future collaboration to strengthen the synergies between SESRIC and Bahrain.
