SESRIC Explores Collaboration Opportunities with KOSGEB to Advance SMEs Development in OIC member countries

SESRIC held a meeting with a delegation from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organisation of Türkiye (KOSGEB), at its Headquarters in Ankara. The visit aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration to support and empower SMEs in OIC countries.

Representatives of SESRIC’s technical departments briefed the meeting on the Centre’s areas of work, including Statistics and Information, Economic and Social Research, as well as Training and Technical Cooperation, with particular emphasis on the initiatives and activities related to SMEs. Correspondingly, the KOSGEB delegation provided insights into their organisation’s structure and scope of operations underscoring their remarkable efforts in the region. In addition, the discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions and outlined possible joined activities to be executed in the future.

KOSGEB is Türkiye’s primary organisation dedicated to supporting SMEs. Established in 1990, it has evolved from initially focusing on manufacturing SMEs to becoming a comprehensive support system for all sectors, including services and trade.

KOSGEB plays a crucial role in boosting the Turkish economy by providing a range of services such as financial support, consultancy, training, and access to markets. Its mission is to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs, foster entrepreneurship, and contribute to job creation.
