Webinar on ‘Establishing Quality Assurance Mechanisms and Accreditation Systems for TVET Programmes’

Within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025, SESRIC, in collaboration with the International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO-UNEVOC) organised a webinar on “Establishing Quality Assurance Mechanisms and Accreditation Systems For TVET Programmes”.

The webinar aimed to address the critical need for strong TVET quality assurance and accreditation frameworks within OIC Countries. It sought to enhance the understanding of the roles of these mechanisms in improving TVET Programme quality, relevance, and reliability.

152 TVET experts and executives from 35 countries, including 25 OIC countries, benefitted from the presentations and case studies delivered by experts from UNESCO-UNEVOC and national institutions/UNEVOC Centres. These case studies illustrated successful strategies and practices for improving TVET Programme standards. Overall, the webinar underscored the critical role of standardised frameworks in ensuring the effectiveness and credibility of TVET qualifications, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in OIC countries.
