On the sidelines of the UN-OIC General Meeting on Cooperation held on 22-24 July 2024 in Astana, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Khaled KHIARI, UN Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific at the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs. The meeting focused on exploring ways to enhance cooperation between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted SESRIC’s newly initiated capacity-building programme, PalestineCaB, which aims to support the relevant national institutions in Palestine. She underscored the significance of this programme in addressing critical needs and fostering resilience in Palestine.

H.E. KHIARI expressed his appreciation for SESRIC’s efforts and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting stability and development in the region. Both parties agreed to continue their cooperation and work together on future projects that align with their shared objectives.

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to maintain regular communication and coordination in the areas of mutual interest for the benefit of common member countries and to strengthen the cooperation between the two institutions.
